He met with an accident as passanger on 13. April 1993. near Tiszafüred. Since the accident he has to use wheelchair, but he is very active and he tries to live such a healthy life as before the accident. It is not too easy. Handicapped people are not provided with equivalent rehabilitaion and they do not get information on social support.
Even that is why has Zoltán Oláh established on 12 december 1994. his foundation that work nowadays as „ÉRMÉK” Foundation of public utility for Recreational, Menthal and Educational Centre.
Chairman of Érmék is: János Nánási
He was born on 31. december 1978. in Debrecen, Hungary. On 11. 04. 2003. his life broke into pieces. He was on the way for home when a car hit him. For the accident his right clavicle was broken, the muscle of his right eye was torn and vertebrae VI-VII were broken, so he is paralysed downward of his ribbones. He can only move by wheelchair.
This status is definitive, but he tries to keep it up and tries to live a „normal” life.
He spent many time in hospitals and saw sorrowfully how much people living like him or living under worse circumstances from the beginning of their life. He would like to help these people and he thinks as chairman of „ÉRMÉK” Foundation he can help them the most effective way.
Aims of the organisation:
- to improve life-quality of children and adults who are living and working in our region,
- to organise medical and rehabilitational treatments, giving information, to organise programs and events to forego paralytic problems,
- to assure necessary therapis and all essential facilities to be able to run a good functioning medical service.
Our help is however not only money-based, we also provide mental support for handicapped people and their relatives. We help them to be able to accept the new living conditions and to be able to return to a normal life. We also try to lend them a hand to solve their every day problems (at post-office, other offices, going to shops, buy medicines).
This service is really unique in our country.
We have bought recently a 5175 m2 great area close to Debrecen in Józsa where we would like to establish a great recreational and menthal centre. We could reduce current expenses this way. This centre would help people like us and to be able to live a normal life and we want these people to be accepted by the whole society. In the future we would like to make a special work place for fellow sufferers and to build a sport establishment. We would like to expand our activity to all parts of our country.
Our Foundation has worked so far by using own financial sources. In 2005. we won 60 million forint by an application for regional development. We would like to establish a recreational centre (with 722 m2 floorspace).
In this intitute we could provide rehabilitational service for 50 people, and furthermore it could be a scene for confences, different courses and other events. Unfortunately this amount is enough for only a part of the centre, only outpatient service can be realised o fit.
That is why we would like you to help us supplying this resource gap.
If the whole intitute were built up, we could organize rehabilitation and skill developing holiday programmes for deficient children.
